CHRISTMAS JAPANESE TENKOKU CARVING
£65 per participant.
Stone seals have been used in East Asia for thousands of years. Similar to wax seals in Europe, they are used as decorative sigils to seal letters and sign artwork.
In this workshop, tutor Nao Fukumoto will guide you as you in choosing your own Tenkoku Moji (letter) or you can design your own seasonal symbol and carve it into a small square stone. Perhaps you may wish to design one of each?
The seals will be unique to you and will last forever and is a lovely way to embelish envelopes, gift tags, wrapping paper and more with a little hand crafted, seasonal spirit. The workshop is also perfect for anyone who might want to stick to tradition and use as a marque for their work.
All materials are included and for you to take home:
Two stones for carving
Silver & gold ink pads
A selection of papers for printing
Refreshments
There may be an opportunity to purchase tools on the day should you wish to continue this craft at home.

During this seasonal workshops, participants will be offered light festive refreshments.
There is a cafe on site should you wish to purchase a drink or snack before or after the workshop.
Hand sanitiser and cleaning products are provided in the workshop.
At this time, workshop places are kept to between 6-8 participants, depending on the workshop, to ensure a comfortable and safe working environment.

Cancellation for a full refund (excluding eventbrite fees) must be made more than 48 hours in advance (excludes willow workshops where the date will be two weeks prior to the start of the workshop), unless Government guidelines around COVID mean that the workshop must be cancelled or postponed, in which case a full refund will be made. Cancellations within 24hrs of the event incur a 100% cancellation charge, however should you need to cancel due to a positive LFT or PCR test, please email us with confirmation of your positive test result.
No shows incur 100% cancellation charges.
Should the workshop bookings fail to meet minimum operating numbers we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event to another time.
